About two weeks ago I decided to get individual lashes at a local nail salon here in Atlanta.

I normally wouldn’t get them done at a nail shop but my friend referred them to me after I noticed how natural but very pretty her lashes looked.

That was TWO weeks ago and my individuals are still going strong. (Knock on wood)

I took these pictures immediately after I got them done and I wasn’t completely satisfied with them….I couldn’t quite place my finger on it, but something was off.

*Ignore the faces, I’m pretty goofy*

That’s when I remembered seeing a comment on a false eyelash site I frequent about Nicki Minaj’s “Super Bass” look.

Although it was beautiful, someone remarked that her makeup would look even better and more BALANCED if she added some lashes to the bottom.

Taking that advice I added some my mascara to my bottom lashes and voila, the look came together.

The thing I like most about these lashes is that they gradually got longer to achieve the “butterfly effect” a.k.a the flair out on the ends.

Rapper Iggy Azalea has dropped another video from her Ignorant Art mixtape, this time titled “The Last Song.”

If you’re unfamiliar with Azalea, she’s an Australian model/rapper who’s said to have been a shoe-in for XXL’s annual ‘Freshmen’ cover.

I actually remember hearing about her a few years ago around the ATL music scene and thinking,”Why isn’t she famous?!” after seeing some of her Youtube clips.

Azalea definitely has ‘The Look’ and on top of that she can actually rap.

And while I haven’t really found a song of hers I connect with, I can see her having a huge fan base.

In her latest video for ‘The Last Song’ she shows off her signature winged eye liner and beautiful flowing tresses. (Is that 30 inch? Wow!)

Is she giving anyone else a Gaga vibe in this or is that just me?

On top of that I hear she’s only 21…which is shocking because she looks and sounds so mature. (No shade)

Just before ringing in the New Year, I was invited to attend the Atlanta launch of Glitzy Lips.

Glitzy Lips are described as “Eye-popping lip foil designs that won’t fade, flake or foul for eight hours.”

Helmed by Athena Elliot, Glitzy Lips are fun, super shiny and easy to apply.

At the ATL launch party, bloggers and tastemakers were given cupcakes and cocktails at J. Mont Makeup Studio while Elliot and her Glitzy Lips team gave us demos on the product.

We were also allowed to take the product home to try for ourselves.

I was given their silver lip foil which would be fun for a special occasion or nighttime party.

Here are some pictures and a video of me trying out Glitzy Lips for the first time at home.

The pictures are step-by-step and show me prepping my lips with primer before actually applying the foil to my lips.

On Friday, my homie Lexi of Curls, Coils, And Kinks.com and my namesake Danielle of TheStyleAndBeautyDoctor.com hosted Atlanta’s “T.J. Maxx/Marshalls A New Year, A New You” event.

A bevy of beauty bloggers, natural hair aficionados and fashionistas turned out for the event at TJ Maxx Dunwoody where they were treated to light refreshments and challenges for prizes.

The ladies gave us great tips on items that TJ Maxx/Marshalls provides for much less than their retail value including hair products, designer shoes and even makeup and skincare.

In my opinion the highlight of the night was a fashion challenge where we had to find the most stylish outfit in the store that was ultimately judged by the TJ Maxx staff for a prize.

I picked out a super cute burgundy designer dress (I can’t remember the designer…but it was only 39.99!) and paired it with a black blazer ($49.99) and matching Jessica Simpson shoes ($49.99).

I didn’t win the challenge unfortunately but everyone was awarded a $25 gift card for participating.

This event was so much fun and I had a great time rediscovering all that TJ Maxx/Marshalls has to offer.

I’m currently obsessing over MAC’s ‘Saint Germain’ lipstick, a pretty Barbie pink that’s extra smooth and creamy and surprisingly flattering on women of my skintone.

I usually pair this MAC’s Currant lip pencil, a pretty purple color that contrasts with the pink to give a shading effect.

I wore my Saint Germain and Currant two times in a row this weekend; once to a TJ Maxx and Marshalls event and the next day while shopping.

I received a number of compliments, so I decided to share a few shots I took of this color on my iPhone.

Amber Rose looked like a MANNEQUIN on NYE and I mean that in the nicest way possible.

Ambuh was spotted with her mother and Wiz at Surrender Las Vegas rocking pale pink lips and a gorgeous smokey eye.

In my opinion, Amber’s makeup is always F L A W L E S S and she always has a super healthy glow, not sure if that’s a bomb shimmer powder or just because of her happy relationship with her man.

On another note, I actually interviewed Amber on the red carpet of the 2011 Soul Train Awards and she’s really as beautiful in person as she is in pictures.

So much so that when my boss told me to stand next to her on the red carpet, I froze up and couldn’t do it. (Lol)

I did however ask her a few questions from behind the velvet ropes about her “popular music” album and her Smirnoff vodka line.

A M A Z I N G.

I wore these bad boys on New Year’s Eve and my feet felt great.

I think what makes these shoes so comfortable are the mesh bands across the instep and of course the platform.

I always prefer platforms over other heels because they give me height but also let me keep my balance.

Before NYE I took some pictures of my Bendies for some of my boos on Twitter.

If you know me, you know I’m always on the hunt for new makeup, hair or style inspo, and my latest finding is helping me with all T H R E E.

While sifting through Tumblr, I ran across plus size model Nadia Aboulhosn of NadiaAboulhosn.com.

I love her style and confidence and the way she compliments her curves. (I want her hips!)

Some of my favorite looks from her are below including one with a blazer and pleaser boots, risqué but hot nonetheless.

What do you think about Ms. Aboulhosn?

Her “Graphic Eyeliner” tutorial as seen below features jet black liner that’s connected on both the top and the bottom lash line.

Instead of the soft naturals she used, I used a shimmery orange on the lid and dark brown on the crease.

She also used falsies but I used my own fiber gel mascara to lengthen my lashes.

While it’s not my best work, (the fallout on the lashes and the shaky liner especially) it was pretty fun to do and it’s different.
